Dr. Marina Rova

Marina is a dance movement psychotherapist, lecturer and researcher. She is programme convenor for the MA Dance Movement Psychotherapy programme at Goldsmiths University of London. Her professional practice spans 20 years and has been shaped by her teaching career in dance education (Athens and London), her clinical  practice in community and mental health settings (NHS London), her lecturing on academic and vocational programmes (UK and Europe) and her independent consultancy work (UK).

Specialist clinical experience includes dementia services, adult mental health and perinatal and family services. She holds a practice-based interdisciplinary PhD on kinaesthetic empathy building on the intersections of dance movement psychotherapy, phenomenology and cognitive neuroscience.

Marina is passionate about collaboration and interdisciplinarity. To ArtsMinded she brings her developing research informed model of embodied reflexivity as an integrative approach to therapy, personal development and learning.
